true colours & generous gems…

Through our “Buggies for Good” programme, we’re lucky enough to meet some of the most amazing people in the world!  This time round, phil&teds has been lucky enough to help out not one, but two wonderful mothers with a Mountain Buggy SuperBug.

The original info on the Mountain Buggy SuperBug

Louise’s second child, the gorgeous Cameron, was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy in 2008.  He always rode in the stylish MB buggy, but as he has grown the buggy hasn’t (wouldn’t that be great!!).  We were stoked to be able to help Louise out.  And when we did, Louise generously donated her swift to “Buggies for Good”.  Read more of Lousie’s story on her blog here.

Michelle is an amazing, AMAZING woman, a super mum of three gorgeous kids and keen walker – in fact she walks everywhere!  Her son Elijah has “Prune Belly Syndrome”, and Michelle has set up a Facebook page to increase awareness of Elijah’s condition, & shares her journey with the world.  Michelle actually is an inspiration to us all, in more ways than one – so when we had the opportunity to gift Michelle with a SuperBug for Elijah we were stoked!  Michelle felt the need to give back too.  So she rounded up the troops at her local mum’s group, & gathered their buggies that were catching dust & cobwebs.  She took them home, gave them a clean & donated them back to phil&teds.

Michelle & Elijah always on the go & walking all over Wellington!

Through Louise & Michelle’s energies & donations, we were able to give back to the community, to organisations that had touched their hearts.  Firstly, True Colours, that is a child health service providing clinical and psychosocial support for children and young people (birth to 18 years) who have a chronic, serious or life-threatening illness and their families.

The sum total of the team that supports around 130 families at any one time, covering the whole of the Waikato DHB region.

When we spoke to True Colours they expressed how happy they were to receive these donations: “We are hugely grateful for your sponsorship of these buggies and we know that two of our families will be absolutely delighted!  The Mountain Buggy’s have been housed to  two families with babies who have complex health needs.”

Secondly, Kidney Kids who Michelle recommended as a well deserving organization. Kidney Kids of NZ is a parent driven organisation set up to meet the needs of children, and the families of children, who have kidney disorders.  They were so happy to receive the buggies and help out families in need!

The gorgeous Elijah at Kidney Kids, with that beautiful smiles he, constantly, has!

It is such an honour for us to be able to help families & organsiations involved, and we wouldn’t be able to do so without the help & donations, of generous gems like Louise and Michelle.  If you would like to donate your pre-loved phil&teds, Mountain Buggy or other branded stroller drop us a line at buggiesforgood@philandteds.com

  1. Just saw this and thought ‘wow, what a great thing to do for people’.
I have one of you Double P&T E3 V2, and I love it. Sadly we got it 2nd hand after several years of use and it is now faded, rain cover doesn’t seem to fit right now, and there is rust all over (so looks like it will die soon :( ). It makes life so much easier with my SN baby, and my toddler who has walking problems.
My only wish is that I had enough money to buy a brand new P&T pram (I don’t care what, just want a double). Sadly finding one I can afford to pay outright or even by layby is so hard right now with all our trips.
Anyways, I’ve gone of course, sorry for the blabbing. Back on course, what you’re doing is great and I love your prams.
