A Pram-a-holic’s search.

Yes, I am a pram-a-holic and when your a pram-a-holic it is no easy feat to find the next pram, something to supersede all others! There is something soooo delicious about opening up a box with a brand new spanking pram! But what does a pram-a-holic want in a pram?

  1. I want a work horse, adapting to all my families needs, with sophistication, quality, refinement and dependability. It needs to deal with all  pressures that my two princess can throw at it, crumbs and all! All the while walking the streets tirelessly, having the immense style to outweigh any pushchair envy, as I eye other prams strolling the streets nearby. (hehe) Now that should be easy!
  2. An ultra-stylish and streamlined single buggy, with adaptability, converting to a double buggy at the drop of a whine, without fuss, maintaining it’s ease of maneuverability in any mode.
  3. The second seat needs to be as comfortable as the main seat, with the ability to recline if need be and with ease! And possibly rear facing too??!!

Okay this all seemed a little far fetching in little old New Zealand! Everything I have seen to date lacked the chic factor, either it looked odd as a single buggy, as if a second seat was missing, or it felt like a brick to maneuver!

But have I found it!!???

A fortnight ago we welcomed the phil&teds Promenade stroller to the family and it hasn’t left our sides! And with my brother and sister-in-laws arrival from London, it has seen a fast introduction to our family life! With trips to Te Papa, Parks, Cafes, Kindergarten pick-up’s/drop offs, a little retail therapy and collapsing it in and out of the car too many time’s to count! And what do I think? I like it, ohh okay, I LOVEEEE it! And my pram envy is slowly, but sadly, starting to diminish! Much to my husband’s delight and wallet!!

The Promenade box was quickly consigned as a make believe boat.

The Promenade has ticked all the boxes, as a single it is chic, so whether I am stepping out of the house dressed to the nines with my love of  jewelry, or in a rush for the kindergarten morning drop off (and let’s face it my hair is everywhere!), it really is my own little accessory! I don’t have to lose my sense of style even though I’m a Mummy! All the while it fit’s the bill as our dependable workhorse!

The Promenade on it’s first outing outside ‘Te Papa’ Wellington, New Zealand. Charlotte and Isabella enjoying a little giggle on the water front! The basket was a life saver, I jammed it full of stuff and the second seat was very handy for our tired 4 year old!

The making’s of a beautiful friendship.

I shall let you know about my pram envy soon! Or lack there of!
