Do you have voices in your head… The battle of retaining a sense of self!

Thursday, 5 April 2012

phil&teds products are designed and produced with real parents in mind. We’re parents too… I personally am not just yet – but soon to be Super Aunty Nic – WAHOO!!  However, over half of our phil&teds heads are parents,  constantly feeding back about what is needed, what works, plus trying out prototype creations, but you don’t have to be a parent to do this…

buggy + weight + anyone + outside = product testing!

After most weekends stories are shared about something crazy the kids did at the weekend, what the latest dress up outfit obsession is, and how something was made easier during the parenting day. And it’s not always with a phil&teds product. read more …

How do you make it through the day? Tell us & WIN!

Wednesday, 4 April 2012

We’d love you to make a 30-60 second video about making it through the day with kid(s) – especially those major pain points!

Are you a city dweller who takes public transport, lives in a small house or apartment, has to think about less space and getting about the city swiftly, but you have some constraints in achieving what you want to do with the kids in tow?

Or, are you someone who wants to go everywhere – we’re talking trail walking, beaches, city – the works!  Urban and outdoor requirements, but life feels restrained because you can’t do it easily?

Favorite travel gear in review

Wednesday, 28 March 2012
(Above, in Rome, Italy last year with our trusted Explorer!  We needed good air-filled tires to walk around the Colosseum and to deal with Rome street generally.)

We are traveling a bit less with 3 kids and school schedules, but I am still obsessed with baby travel gear!   I’ve been having fun playing on Pinterest, which I assume is not just a USA phenomenon.  Granted, I still feel like a bit of a Pinterest idiot as I stumble around the site.  I had a lot of fun recently making a board of some of my favorite travel gear so I thought I would share it here.  It is pretty much a summary of a lot of the other things I have written about, but I like looking at everything in one place.  Sorry to people not in the USA as pretty much all the links are from amazon.com.  I could not figure out how to pin things from philandteds.com (like I said, I am still kind of a Pinterest idiot).  And sorry too, I post a lot of these after long days of dealing with my kids.   These long days make complete thought more difficult, which in turn makes even simple things like subject/verb agreement hard.
SO, here is the link to my favorite Pinterest board!  I would love to hear other things you all can’t travel without!

A Pram-a-holic’s search.

Tuesday, 20 March 2012

Yes, I am a pram-a-holic and when your a pram-a-holic it is no easy feat to find the next pram, something to supersede all others! There is something soooo delicious about opening up a box with a brand new spanking pram! But what does a pram-a-holic want in a pram?

  1. I want a work horse, adapting to all my families needs, with sophistication, quality, refinement and dependability. It needs to deal with all  pressures that my two princess can throw at it, crumbs and all! All the while walking the streets tirelessly, having the immense style to outweigh any pushchair envy, as I eye other prams strolling the streets nearby. (hehe) Now that should be easy!
  2. An ultra-stylish and streamlined single buggy, with adaptability, converting to a double buggy at the drop of a whine, without fuss, maintaining it’s ease of maneuverability in any mode.
  3. The second seat needs to be as comfortable as the main seat, with the ability to recline if need be and with ease! And possibly rear facing too??!!

Okay this all seemed a little far fetching in little old New Zealand! Everything I have seen to date lacked the chic factor, either it looked odd as a single buggy, as if a second seat was missing, or it felt like a brick to maneuver!

But have I found it!!??? read more …

The Secret Confessions of a Pram-a-holic.

Friday, 9 March 2012

To family, friends and my obliging husband it is no secret that I love prams! Yes, I LOVE prams! The first step to recovery is admitting I have a problem (according to my adoring husband) or finding the perfect pram! To the ranks of our family we have had two, Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle (2008 and 2011) and a Phil & Ted’s Explorer, Vibe and Verve! Our first Mountain Buggy was wonderful, dependable to the last, tackling rough terrain without question, the perfect workhorse. But with the arrival of our second wee darling girl the search for the perfect double pram ensued! And what a fun search it has been! I always think of my pram like a car, it is constantly in use, needs to be dependable, practical and ultra chic! It’s a tall order for any pram in my book!

phil&teds promenade owner in love with stroller…

Tuesday, 6 March 2012

Karrie our phil&teds Brand Ambassador based in Aussie sent us this, and we love it: “I snapped this cute little fella in a phil&teds Promenade!  His name is Arlen – he just loves his pram.  He kicks back and just enjoys his ride – check out how comfy the kids looks!!  He was snapped picking his big sister up from school.  His mum, Katrina, absolutely loves the Promenade!  She said that it the most comfortable pram for babies that she’s seen. ”

phil&teds proud to support NZ’s Surgical Research Trust

Friday, 2 March 2012

Last weekend – phil&teds supported the Surgical Research Trust by running the AMI Round the Bays – raising money & awareness: !  If you want to donate – there is still time: CLICK HERE! (picture the size of my smile right now :) )))

Some of us maniacs ran the half marathon.  Some the 7KM. Regardless it was a hot day in the Capital, we sported our SRT tee’s and got to it.  Parent, or not parent; phil&teds heads rise to the in-house testing challenge.  We’re not precious here, we have an incredible Design & Engineering team that need willing applicants to try out our products, and help prove that they can handle the jandle (what is a jandle?) – as kiwi’s put it.  On of our newest phil&teds’ heads, – Judy did just that at last weekend’s Round the Bays!

(phil&) teddy is ready!
