Operation Brando

 5/5

We have one of these lobster chairs in our car at all times and use it on various occasions: when visiting friends, going to a restaurant, staying with families, even when eating at a picnic table during a road trip.

in short: WE LOVE IT.

The only downside I can see is some tables have a skirt that don't accommodate the chair.

Nice take along seat. Great at Camp

 4/5

We bought this mostly to take to camp and it worked great for that. We were able to secure it to the picnic table and our son was content in it for a long time since he was right up to the table with all the big kids. I love the idea of the "tray", but it doesn't work. My son was able to remove it quite easily at 8 months old and it became a game. More of a burden than a help so we just don't even try anymore. The only issue, as noted in other reviews, is the table cannot have a "lip" The clamps then would not work so there were times we would take it into a place and my husband and I would be feeling the underside of the table to see if it would work and then would have to ask for a highchair anyway. We did use it at our kitchen table as well for many months and it nicely replaced our fisher price strap on seat, giving us back additional seating for grown ups. Overall, great when the table is compatible.

Lobster Love

 5/5

I bought our Lobster at the end of 2012 for my (then) 1 year old son. Sadly our kitchen/dining room table couldn't take it - had a protruding part at the bottom of the table. But I kept it for traveling, and when we went to visit Grandma & more family in South Africa, I was so happy I invested in it! Its very useful, easy and quick to set up, easy to get a baby/child into and out. I think the tray could be adapted so it clicks in cause it doesn't always stay in place as wished. That being said, we adore our Lobster and recommend it - your kid won't fall out unless you don't strap them down and they get up by themselves, so its trustworthy and sturdy - Love, love, love love love it!

Very Useful

 4/5

My little guy refused to sit in a highchair, but he actually enjoyed sitting in this! It really is compact and lightweight. We just leave it in the car and grab it whenever we go into a restaurant. I agree with other reviewers that the only flaws would be (1) the tray does not attach or stay in place and (2) it will not connect to tables with a lip.

Love this chair!

 5/5

We bought this chair to clamp to our counter when our son decided he would only let us cook with him in our arms. With this he can see everything that's going on and we have 2 free hands. Is also great when we have breakfast at the counter instead of the table as he can sit with us. Highly recommended!

Lobster

 5/5

I love having the lobster because it is stylish and I hate having to use the restaurants chairs that make my child feel far away and lower to ground. It is disappointing when I bring it and cannot use it but I consider this product a luxury and overall like having it.

Don't like seafood but love the Lobster!

 5/5

This is the best chair ever! It was so handy when we would go out to eat with our daughter. We received so many compliments on the chair and people were always asking us where we got it. The bag that it fits in to is very easy to use and it travels well with just mom and baby. I would recommend this product to anyone that takes their child out to dinner. Very nice product!!

A fantastic travel highchair

 4/5

The lobster is a fantastic travel highchair! It's design is much more durable and stylish than the competition. It's easy to use and works perfectly with wooden picnic tables at parks. While it doesn't work with every table, we have found that those that it doesn't work with are fewer than expected. The foldaway design is great and makes it easy to store in the car and packs well for travel. The tray fits snugly in between the clamps on a flat table, but doesn't fit perfectly on all tables. The seat also removes from the frame for easy cleaning. Overall it's a very versatile product and worth the extra expense over the competition. We get lots of complements on its appearance and function when we use it.

we LOVE our lobster

 5/5

We've had the lobster for over a year now and we LOVE it! It's one of our most favorite baby products. If you're a minimalist (or even if you're not) you will love it too. No big bulky high chair filling up your kitchen, it wipes off easily and still looks real nice after all this time. We moved our 2 year old from the chair to a barstool and now our 5 month old uses it. The kids love to sit at the bar all together. We don't use the tray a whole lot, it's just as easy to use the counter top. We are very happy with our purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

Perfect for on the go!

 5/5

We love our lobster seat! It allows our 11 month old daughter to be right at the table with the rest of the family during meals and it can also be attached to our kitchen counter while I’m getting food ready. It is really easy to secure and as long as you put it on heavy tables, or secured counter tops, it feels completely stable and safe. We bring this with us on all holidays and restaurants outings. It is so much easier than worrying about finding or borrowing a high chair and our daughter is so comfortable in it. The only problem I’ve encountered with the lobster seat is having a counter top or table that is not compatible with its attachment design. You can’t have a ‘lip’ on the table or counter that you’d like to use and there have been a few times on trips where we can’t use the lobster because of this. Otherwise, this was a great investment for our family. This is our second child to use the chair and it is still in fantastic shape. I’d recommend it!

Like the product, just not a lot of places to use

 4/5

We have had the Lobster for sometime now and just like everyone else said it is a great chair to have when you are out. It is very easy to throw under a stroller or even carry it in a bag. We use it all the time, when we can. As many of the other reviews have stated you can not use the Lobster when there is a lip on the table or when the table is free standing. The Lobster is the seat that we always have in our car and bring with us when we go in to eat somewhere but it is only used about 40% of the time, not due to product but to the type of table we are sitting at.

Compact, easy to use

 4/5

We are using this seat for our infant who is 6 months old. She is our third child & I wish we had this product to use with our other two children. We have used it out in restaurants mainly & once at a friends house. It easily attaches to the table & you don't have to worry about germy restaurant highchairs. The only concern is that the baby sits close to the table & if they flop forward, the will hit their head on the table. The Lobster is very easy to carry, it is lightweight & folds nice and flat for easy storage & transportation. It is good for occasional use, I would not use this as an everyday solution for feeding.

great for travel

 5/5

wonderful product... throw in the car or in the basket of your stroller. it is a great chair for anywhere

Use this everywhere we can...Great portable chair!

 3/5

We have had this chair for almost a year now and I love it. As other reviews have said, you can't use it on tables with lips (which they do say on the Phil &Ted's website, so it was not a surprise to me) but when you can use it, it's great. Our son loves to stand up in regular high chairs, so this works great (because he can't). He sits comfortably in here and we don't have to worry about him falling out. I give it 4 stars because of the tray. We actually lost the tray early on, so never really used it, but it doesn't actually clip into the chair, so my son would basically just take it right off as soon as it was on...and that was when he was around 7-8 months! It is very portable and compact and easy to tote around. Would highly recommend this seat for restaurants or even if you have a table at home that you can use it with.

Great chair but no bag!

 3/5

We purchased our first Lobster in the fall of 2011 and absolutely loved it! We used it at home on our kitchen island and we packed it along whenever we went out to eat. The Lobster is very sturdy, extremely lightweight and compact, and super easy to use. It fits well on most tables and we love the tray. We get compliments in restaurants and have recommended it to many people. This has been one of our very favorite and most used baby items, however, we noticed a couple of months back that the nonslip pads on the hook were beginning to detach. When two of them fell off we immediately returned our Lobster because we felt it had become unsafe to use. We ordered another and were disappointed when it arrived to find a sticker on the instruction booklet saying that the carry bag was no longer included. When we contacted phil&teds to find out if there was any way to get a bag we were told that they no longer had one and that it was never meant as anything but packaging (even though it is advertised as a carry bag). This feature was important to us because it is what made the chair so portable. We were so disappointed with the response we received from phil&teds that we have not yet decided if we will keep our new Lobster. We are currently using the Inglesina Fast table chair which does come with a carry bag.

Lobster chair works great!

 5/5

This chair was a GREAT addition to our household. I bought the chair on a whim so we could get rid of our high chair and make more room in our kitchen. Mission accomplished. It's easy to install, move, re-install handles allow it to be cleaned quickly and packed up for trips to friends and grandmas. This is a must for moms!

We use this everywhere

 5/5

This high chair is fabulous. I first saw it used by a coffee shop/play centre as their high chair for little ones. My daughter enjoyed eating in it and we purchased one within a week. Our lobster is so compact that is goes everywhere with us...camping, Grandmas, restaurants and bigger outings. It's easy to install and we have not met a table it could not be installed on quickly.

Love it!

 5/5

We love our Lobster Chair. It has made life so easy when we are out with our little guy. Its folds up so small and its so light we can easily throw it in the stroller or even just carry it wherever we go. Our little guy loves it, since he is sitting up and can see like the rest of us. I love the fact that I know its clean, since I'm the one cleaning it, no more wiping down the public highchairs at the food court in the mall. We have never had any problems attaching it to a variety of different styles of tables, it always feels very sturdy and strong. Just about every time we use it someone stops to ask us where we got it. The only change I would make would be the tray that it comes with. It works but does not actually attach to the chair so our little guy always pulled it off, so instead we went and bought a silicone placemat that we can lay underneath the claws so it can't be thrown across the table. We just roll it up and stuff it in with the lobster in its little carrying bag. I would recommend this chair to anyone who likes to take there little one out to any public place where they might stop to eat or snack, or even to use at home instead of having a big highchair hanging around at home.

Loster convenient... sometimes

 3/5

The lobster is great for what we use it for. We mainly use it when are going camping or to the park bc we know it will clip to a picnic table. The design doesn't allow it to clip to a table with a lip (which is what our table has), so it stays clipped to our bar. Which works fine for us bc we usually eat there anyway. We also have a space saver high chair that we had purchased before so our daughter is still able to join us at the table. I don't have any problems with the tray. It stays wedged between the arms enough that she can't move it. I few ppl have bought the lobster after seeing ours, it is a neat little chair!

fantastic product!

 5/5

I think it's a fantastic product and I recommend it to anyone I know who has a little person ;) Thanks so much for the great chair!!

Great prospects

 5/5

I purchased the lobster in anticipation of my son using it but have only been able to enjoy the prospect of it so far. However I must say that is it the most unique and functional prospect I've ever bought for my baby. It opens up into a regular sized toddler high chair seat and folds up thinner than my purse. It appears to clamp very tight to the table top and looks to be compatible with straight or rounded table tops since the clamps are adjustable. The only thing people were complaining about that I cannot vouch for is that it cannot be used on tables with lips. Other than that, it is a great and useful product..prospectively speaking of course...

We use this everywhere

When it works, IT WORKS!!!

 5/5

I keep the Lobster Highchair in my trunk. I know it doesn't work everywhere, but when it does, it's fantastic! The highchairs that restaurants provide are usually gross and they never sit right up to the table. So I end up having to hand-feed my one year old the entire time. Whereas, when my son sits in the lobster, I can put some finger food on his tray. He's happier feeding himself and I get to eat with my family. There have been a few times that he's wiggled the tray free but I've caught on and now I'm a pro at getting it hooked in tight. I know it doesn't work everywhere, but lucky for us, it works at most of the restaurants that we frequent regularly. I highly recommend this product!

Great little chair

 4/5

We have really enjoyed the lobster chair. Our little guy is now 7 months old and loves to sit in it at meal time. We love how compact it is and doesn't take up much room in our kitchen. It's so easy to move around or take off if we need more room for adults. It's easy to fold up, though I wish it was easier to fit into the bag. The fabric is easy to remove and hand wash. Overall we love it!

Great seat!

 5/5

We use ours for camping and eating out. It's so compact that we leave it in the car. Works perfect on the picnic table and most tables out.

Great travel chair, and great for home

 4/5

This chair has been great! Easy to travel with, so compact and sets up easily! We even use it at home, clipping it onto the island - which is great! The only change I would like to see is the material. It is a very sturdy material, but for clean up it would be great if it had a kind of plasticized exterior to make it easier to wipe food crud off. But in terms of quality, A +" product!

Great for small houses

 4/5

We love our Lobster highchair! We have a small apartment without a lot of space for a freestanding highchair. This is a great solution for a tight space. We travel a lot and we have found it very useful (although it is a bit heavy when you are adding it to your flight luggage). It is also great to include the baby with us at the dinner table - one big happy family.

Love our lobster

 5/5

We have been using out lobster since our daughter was about 8 months old. We have a bar counter in our kitchen and the seat clips right on the end of the counter so she can sit there with us. It's been amazing to have her right there for snacks meals and activities while I'm cooking or working in the kitchen. It also folds up small and we can travel with it. I simply hand wash it in the sink and let it dry on our drying rack. Our daughter is now 19 months and we still love an use our lobster daily!

Sturdy, compact, but need to improve tray

 4/5

We love our lobster, and use it exclusively as our highchair at home and away. It's sturdy, washable and perfect for our small kitchen. Only issue we have with it is that our daughter can easily push the tray out and then dump her leftovers onto the floor (or the dog!). It needs a tray that firmly attaches to the seat.

Easy to clean

 5/5

Got the Lobster as a gift and love it. We travel with it all the time. Also love that I can wash it in the sink when it gets dirty. My son has been using it since he has been 7 month old. Great for when I am in the kitchen and he watches me cook too!

100% satisfied customer

 5/5

Thank a lot for a wonderful high chair

Only works on certain tables

 3/5

Compact, handy, and convenient. A major downside is that it can only be used with tables with a flat edge. If the table has an edge with an L-shape, it won't work. About half of the restaurants we tried to use it at had this "L-shape" table edge, so we couldn't use it half the time.

A must-have!

 5/5

I purchased the Lobster for my son after a friend recommended it (she is using it for both her kids everyday on their kitchen island). Bought it to travel with (vs. worrying about a high chair to haul around) but now use it all the time. Very easy to use and quick to set up. Plus I know it only has my son's "germs" on it vs. restaurant highchairs(gross!). My 16 month old son prefers it over any other kind of highchair when we are out at a restaurant. Keeps him safe and allows for us to enjoy our meal out too! Yes, the Lobster doesn't fit every kind of table but that's too be expected (Not every baby product you buy can you use it all the time, everywhere). VERY happy we bought it and have been recommending it to other friends and family members. Great quality product for the price!

It's a great product

 5/5

We use this chair for every meal with our 9 month old. It's ideal for families with small living spaces (like us) because it eliminates the need for a high chair. Perks: Safe. Deep seat keeps the child very secure. Great for the kid. He/she feels included at the family table. Terrific for restaurants because it collapses and has its own travel bag. Excellent for camping. Fits on all picnic tables. Sturdy. I have highly recommended this product to many people I know. Tip: Get the Lobster so that the clamp fits on thick tables and counters. We've only been to one restaurant where the table was too thin to accommodate the larger clamps.

Best travel seat

 5/5

I love this seat and have used it everywhere. I leave ut in the trunk of my car so its always with me. And if a friend comes over with their kid ihues it as a second high chair in the house. I even bought a second to keep at grandmas.

One of the better products you will purchase

 5/5

Let's just say that this is one item that I use constantly. We originally bought the lobster claw for our trip to Disney World just because I was a germ-a-phobe and wanted my own seat. We used it everywhere. It fits right under the stroller and is easily portable. My daughter loves to be part of the action so this seat puts her up at eye level with everyone else at the dinner table. It's great if you're going over someone's house for dinner just pack it along no need to lug a big heavy seat with you. We usually take it out to eat with us too instead of using one of those nasty chairs. She is 21 months now and when she does use one of those chairs she's constantly using the bars to hoist herself out of the seat. With the lobster claw her feet dangle and she stays put throughout the meal and her food is more accessible leaving less mess on the floor. We love our lobster claw and it is pretty much a staple along with her diaper bag. Two things I would change: Tray is a good idea, but doesn't stay put and would love if the seat was removable to throw in washer. We just hose it off outside to get in the tight spots and hang to dry. Guaranteed this will be one of the better products you will purchase.

We use it every day!

 5/5

We started put using it when we traveled, and it was great. We could use it almost anywhere and it was so non intrusive. Then we moved and the house we moved into had a great bar. We were able to hook it right up to the bar and use it instead of a big high chair! I love that it is easy to clean, easy to take on and off of the table/bar, it is light weight and compact. The best in it field!

Comnpact, well-made & easy to clean

 4/5

The Lobster is a great high chair with lot of features that other clip-on chairs don't offer. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. We also own the Me Too high chair and like them both for different reasons, but here is what gives The Lobster the edge: 1) Lots more padding than the Me Too and a very deep seat, offering great support for babies. I would not hesitate to feed a small infant in this high chair. 2) Included tray. I love that this high chair comes with a tray. It makes a huge difference! Especially when dining out, so you have a known clean surface for your child to eat on. It would be even better (might even bump my rating up to 5 stars) if the tray locked onto the seat so that older babies and toddlers couldn't push it away, but honestly, I'm just thrilled that it comes with a tray at all. 3) Ridiculously easy to clean. The fabric seat easily slides off the frame so you can scrub it down in the sink without the awkwardness of dealing with the clamps. I take the seat off, turn it inside out (to expose the cracks in which food gets trapped) scrub it down and then hang it up in the shower to try. It's usually dry by morning, at which point I slide it back onto the frame and it's ready to go, good as new! 4) Comes with it's own carry bag that fits the tray as well and does not add unnecessary extra bulk, keeping the entire package very compact and ideal for travel. This really is a fantastic high chair. As other reviewers have mentioned, the clamps make it so that the chair cannot be used on a table with a lip. But for us this works better -- our kitchen counter overhang is not very deep and high chairs with lengthy clips that would extend beyond a table lip would not work for us. Bottom line is that no clip-on high chair will work with every table. Just get one that works at home and hope for the best when you're out and about. We've had good luck with this one.

Best option for baby/toddler feeding

 5/5

I originally wanted the P&T Lobster because we were living in San Francisco and I needing something that would completely collapse and avoid taking up valuable real estate. I have not a single regret with our purchase. We have taken the Lobster chair to restaurants, camping, the grandparents and traveling overseas. The arm adjustments make it nearly a perfect fit every time. We constantly change were we put it at home whether it be at the kitchen counter while I cook or at the dinner table so we can eat as a family. My biggest fear was cleaning it, but that has never been a problem either. I simple stick it in the bathtub under hot water and scrub lightly with a soft bristle scrub brush and it looks as good as day one. We've have been using ours twice a day for the past year and there are no visible signs of wear and tear. I would imagine once our child reaches a weight that would become personally uncomfortable she'll be ready for a booster chair at the table. That also brings up a great point, security. There is a harness that we really only used when the baby was just starting to crawl because at that age they're small enough to get out of anything. Now that she's walking about freely we just plop her in without hassle and then she physically needs one of us to help her out. I have recommended this to so many friends, it's perfectly practically and really a must have.

Space saver

 4/5

We use this chair as our only highchair for our 13 month old and we've had it since he could sit up at 5 months. I love that it doesn't take up any floor space like a traditional highchair. We've only brought it out with us a few times because mostly everywhere we go has highchairs but I like that we have the option to bring it with us. My only complaint, and I think this is a common one, is the tray doesn't lock in and my guy figured out pretty quickly how to take it off and dump his food. We got some plastic placemats and put them under the "claws" and either put his food right on it or in a suction cup bowl and that seems to work out just fine.

Works well but has a few flaws

 3/5

The lobster has worked well for us but could be better with a few changes. As others have mentioned, it does come with a tray. It was useful for awhile but now that the baby can pick it up and throw it, the tray has been relagated to storage. The other change I would make is that there doesn't seem to be a good way to clean the seat. Wiping it down hasn't been totally effective and it isn't detachable so I can't put it in the wash. Overall it was a good purchase but I would probably purchase another seat.

Allows you to still eat out!

 5/5

Best shower gift I received! My daughter was able to fit into this chair at a very early age which allowed us to still get our dinners out! Highly recommend to anyone!

Space saver

 5/5

We registered for the lobster chair when our son was born. We have a small apartment and a counter top height table so saving floor space was a necessity. When registering I did all kinds of research in the hopes of finding that perfect highchair so our little one could join us at the table when he is ready. The lobster chair was perfect. It fits securely on our table and we liked the fact that it was super easy to pack up so we could travel with it.

Great for compact spaces

 4/5

We bought this chair to use as our high chair and while traveling. It is very compact, packs easily and cleans up like a chair. Usually all we need to do is wipe it down with a cloth and it's good for the next use. While it is true that it doesn't fit every table (tables with lips at the edge do not work with the clamps) we have found that a majority of the places we go can accommodate it. It also can hang over a booth seat or similar so we don't have to put our child in an aisle or traffic way at a restaurant. We also use it at home exclusively. We have a breakfast nook in the kitchen and it attaches to the backside of the table leaving plenty of area for regular cooking activities. Great for families on the go or those looking to save space!

High quality and functional

 5/5

Bought as a gift and the recipients were very impressed with the quality and the versatility of the product. Very functional and portable and aesthetically pleasing.

Space saver

 3/5

After using a bulky, full size high chair dor about a year, we decided we needed something to save us some floor space. After lengthy research on the me too and lobster as well as chicco's options we decided on this one and we love it. Works well with our table but we defintely don't take it out to eat because we found that most restaurant tables are not compatible. Good for beach trips and other travel(the places we have been have had a good place to put the chair. Overall, great seat but 4 stars for being ao hard to keep clean.

Luvin' the Lobster

 4/5

We love the lobster - its easy to travel with since one can usually check in quite a number of things traveling with a baby. Its easy to use and set up and comfortable for Baby. Sadly our dining room table which we use most often has a lower edge around at the bottom so I can't attach the Lobster to it. (Grande Prairie, Canada)

My fav baby item

 4/5

The lobster is one of my top fav baby items. It was the only option we could use from thin picnic tables to our thick cement counter. It had the widest opening I could find. It's so versatile, compact, streamlined and sturdy. The biggest downside to our family is that you have to throw the whole thing in the sink to really wash it down which takes awhile then for the fabric to fully dry-but we spot wash after meals and do our big wash at the end of the day so it can dry overnight. So its not an issue. We also don't really use the tray since it ended just being another thing to clean and didn't prove too necessary. My first son is 21 months and we are still using it with him. Once my second son (4months now) is old enough we'll either pass it down or not hesitate to pick up a second one. Overall I highly recommend this as a back up, for grandparents home or even as you main high chair. It's a go to gift for me to give friends and we are so satisfied with it.

Love.Our.Lobster

 5/5

We do not go anywhere without our Lobster! Everywhere we take it, we get remarks at how wonderful a product it is! We love that it adjusts to fit a variety of tables with the easy to use clamp system... just twist to a secure fit! As a mother, I appreciate being able to sanitize the Lobster and know that my child is using something clean. We love the tray that slips into place, and doesn't budge! This makes us feel better when we leave a restaurant and we've left a reasonably clean table! When we leave the house, we make sure we have everything we need... Carseat? Check! Diaper Bag? Check! Lobster? CHECK!!! LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I recommend it to ALL of my friends who are new parents.

LOVE IT!!

 5/5

We received this highchair as a gift, and it may be one of the best baby products we have! Super sleek design, easy to "install", easy to clean, a very secure fit to the table. We use this chair for our second child at our kitchen island. After purchasing its predecesor (metoo chair) for our older son, I was tempted to return this after we received it as a gift. So happy we kept it, considering we now use the metoo as a spare when friends come for dinner. The Lobster's design is far superior to the metoo. Seems more comfortable for my son, and is easier to secure to the granite countertop. Love the carrying case it comes in, great for travel. Can't say enough amazing things about this chair. Also for the price, not sure why others would spend so much money to have an annoying highchair cluttering up the kitchen. Fantastic as always Phil and Teds!

Perfect for on the go or at home!

 5/5

We have been using the Lobster Highchair for over a year now and we love it! I chose the Lobster because it is safe, easy to wipe down and portable. The deep seat and shoulder straps give me peace of mind that the baby is safe and sound while eating. But, my favorite part of the Lobster is it allows the baby to eat right at the table with us! I love interacting with my son right at the table. It has made dinner time a time of interacting and learning. A must have for a family on the go or with limited space.

Love the Lobstahhh

 4/5

The P&T's Lobster is great and has been a real lifesaver. We leave it in the car so it's always on hand. It's very compact, and we love how easy it is to pack in a suitcase or carry-on. As others have mentioned in their reviews, the tray doesn't lock to the seat. While it's wonderful that a tray was included, I never use it as my daughter just flings it away. Hopefully P&T's will fix this issue in the future. Until then, we carry disposable, sick-on place mats. The other issue is it only works on tables without a lip. This is something that is quite clear when purchasing, so it came as no surprise. I've found that most houses have a counter bar or somewhere it can be hooked up and most restaurants have booster seats, so it's only been an issue a handful of times.

We love this product

 4/5

We bought this for our daughter when she was starting solid foods around 6 months and have been using it 3-5 times a day for nearly a year. We don't have a dining room table, but we do have a granite bar. This attaches perfectly and incredibly secure to the bar. I was afraid it might fall off, but I put all of my weight on the lobster when it was attached (155lbs and took my feet off the ground) and this thing is SUPER secure. Our daughter loves it and so do we. I will agree with another reviewer that it would be nice if the tray would lock into place. Our little girl is very opinionated and when she is done she slides the tray out and throws it, so as such we dont use the tray any more. Otherwise everything is very solid about this child seat. The material is very easily cleaned (and you'll need to). It is so small and compact we even take it camping with us and to restaurants. It attaches and detaches very easily and folds up really fast. We love Phil & Teds and this product is one of the reasons why.

Great item

 4/5

I purchased this item after getting frustrated with how much room the high chair was taking in my kitchen. Pros: easy to use, compact, sturdy and frees up a lot of room. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's a bit of a pain to clean. However, I don't see this really as a fault of the product as every high chair I have had is hard to clean unless you buy a plastic one that you can rinse off easily.

Use this instead of a traditional highchair

 5/5

The island and my breakfast table are all counter height, so a traditional highchair wouldn't work. I bought the Lobster when my son was 3 months old and he started to sit in it at about 4 months old so that he could be at the table with his big brothers. I put a towel behind his head since it was lined up with the metal backrest, but by the time he was 6 months old his head cleared it and I didn't need the towel. I've always liked having my kids at the table with us, so never used a traditional highchair on wheels, instead I used the Stokke Tripp Trapp, but this time it was too low. And honestly the Lobster has been just as good (and so much cheaper!). It's durable, easy to clean and easy to install. My son is now 1 and it still works great! In fact, we took it camping with us and hooked it to the picnic table, so it's easy to travel with too. And I like the tray insert, helps keep the counter clean and with the lipped edge it keeps food from being pushed off.

I love the seat so much I bought two!

 5/5

I love the seat so much I bought two! I bought it for my first child about 1.5 yrs ago so he could sit at the kitchen counter. Works perfectly. He never reached the weight limit before the fabric started to slowly tear away from the tubing and metal arch. We took care of the chair, except for using it every day for every meal! I had second child and wanted to use it for her but chair was unsafe. Called company and it was >1yr after purchase, so company basically ignored my complaint. Wrote nasty review on website and they gave me 20% off. Basically I love the chair so I bought it again. Baby eats in it every day and loves it. I saved all paperwork so if it rips again I can call within warranty period and get it replaced for free.

Love for lobster

 5/5

We got the Lobster because we have limited space and a high chair would take up too much room. I was a little concerned about it fitting onto our table because it has a bit of a lip to it but it works great. It's small enough that we can leave it on the table and it remains out of the way but it's also compact enough that if we need the space we can store it with little problem. I love that this product is compact and portable!

I give it an A+

This has to be the best travel high chair on the market. We use it every time we go out to eat or even to a friends house. I even used it on the picnic table at my husbands company cookout. It is compact and easy to use!!!

folds up nicely

 4/5

With only a small condo we had limited space for a traditional highchair, so we decided to invest in a clip on chair for our kitchen island. The Phil&Ted Lobster is great for the island, and folds up nicely to take to other people's houses for dinner or out to a restaurant. However, it doesn't work on all tables because of the length of the 'pinchers' and if the table is too thin or too wide, you might not be able to screw it on. I think is a common problem for chip on highchairs. Just be sure that it works on the place you will most likely use it.

LOVE it

 4/5

I won our Lobster chair and LOVE it. I would buy this product again and have told lots of friends about it. The Lobster is great for that stage when your child doesn't really fit into a high chair. The Lobster puts your child right at table height making it easy for them to access their food and interact with everyone. Plus you always know that it's clean and will secure your child. The only flaw of The Lobster is the tray. I really wish that it was more secure. Once my kiddo learned that he could easy push it away the tray became useless.

Must have

 5/5

We get so many compliments on this awesome find. It's convenient and clean wherever we go. I would recommend this to anyone with an infant/toddler who goes out to eat or other's homes. Great find!!

Love! Love! Love!

 5/5

Everywhere we take our Lobster, people constantly comment on how great it is. Love keeping our kiddo away from yucky restaurant high chairs, using the tray on the yucky tables, and having him sit so close to the table with us. Our new go-to gift for any friend having babies. The best baby (now a toddler! )item we own!

Easy to use and very secure

 5/5

The only issue we have had is when a table has a lip on it, the lobster claws don't work.

My favorite item from my baby registry! Every parent (and grandparent, etc) should have a lobster. Our family couldn't live without ours!
