Kiwi company gives buggies the push at European New Zealand embassy events
1 March 2017
Juvenile products company, phil&teds, will present its award-winning namesake and Mountain Buggy brands in both Paris and Madrid this week.
In a first for the company, the two consumer events will be hosted at each country’s New Zealand embassy between 1-3 March, providing a platform for introducing key accounts and influencers to new and innovative products, while also presenting existing line ups.
phil&teds Chief Executive, Campbell Gower, says hosting these events at our country’s embassies not only reinforces our Kiwi origin and brand stories, but also highlights our commitment to closeness.
“We’re a small company when compared to our overseas competitors, based on the other side of the world. While staying true to our Kiwi roots, we’re always inventive in our thinking. The unique location of these events shows just that.”
He says “with the support and efforts of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, we’ve created a space within each embassy where attendees can sit down, relax and focus on us, as we do on them. It’s the Kiwi way.”
phil&teds and Mountain Buggy products sell in over 40 markets and more than 1000 stores worldwide.
Next month, the phil&teds brand adds to its iconic range with the introduction of the mod buggy - designed to capture a new market segment for urban consumers who appreciate bold design. Mountain Buggy has already launched several successful new products this year, including the company’s best selling all-terrain buggy in Europe, duet.
“Seven years ago, we revolutionised the market introducing the duet - a side-by-side buggy so compact it measured the same width as a single. Last week, after listening to customer feedback, we’ve re-launched that buggy and now deliver duet AND duet as a single.
“An oxymoron if ever there was one, I know, but the two separate product options are now suitable for families with one child, siblings or twins.”
Mr Gower says “we’re excited to showcase these buggies, alongside new and existing products to our European fans. We love hearing customer stories and gaining feedback, it gives us insight into what works and what doesn’t. It keeps us growing and further developing products that fit with parents and make life that little bit easier. Enabling, that is our purpose.”
The company is well placed to prosper further in European markets with the recent purchase of a central office space in Malaga, Spain.
