All new vibe stroller – show stoppingly good looking!

Believe in standing out from the crowd? Don’t follow the pack! If personal style and luxurious comfort for your little one is important to you, then you have to check out the new phil&teds vibe or verve stroller!

The phil&teds vibe and verve have been revamped, identical in all ways except one… giving you the choice of pushing a stroller with 3 wheels (vibe)  or 4 (verve). We decided to give the all new vibe a test drive! Sleek design and plush fabrics make the new look vibe heads above the rest. It is an inline stroller that can be adapted to take two passengers at once with the double kit. However now the vibe/verve double kit can be attached to the stroller frame to allow baby to face you, while you stroll. This new feature, parent facing capability helps to strengthen and maintain that parent child bond. As parent and child explore the big wide world together, making the vibe or verve an ideal choice for first time parents.

Out of the box

I am not a hands on can fix anything type of mum (like my own mum), and putting things together and yes following instructions…(snore) is not one of my strong points. But (and it’s a big but) reading and taking note of the instructions is vital in knowing how to set up and care for your buggy. As tempting as it is to jump in all guns blazing with excitement, do take the time to give the instructions a thorough read through. It’s all important stuff! If you are a visual person like myself, and like to ‘see’ how things are done be sure to check out the helpful demo vid here (don’t take this as a “get out of reading the instructions pass” – you still have to read them!) That way you can ensure the safe use and best performance of your buggy.

On the move!

Set up completed and feeling a bit proud that I was able to assemble the stroller all by myself, I was eager to get this show on the road … err footpath. I don’t know what your foot paths are like, but in our city the tree roots push the concrete up causing dips and cracks all over the place, and they also seem to lean to one side – uneven, bumpy terrain, perfect buggy testing conditions.

Even with the rough footpath, wooden bridges and gravely tracks, the vibe stood up to the test. Effortlessly gliding over everything in it’s path, with curb pop to boot! I have never actually seen a buggy stop traffic… but the vibe seriously turns heads! While waiting to cross at the pedestrian crossing, a cyclist, who had plenty of room to make it across our intended path braked hard in her tracks nearly coming off the front of her bike! She came to a grinding halt and waited for us to cross. My brother likes to think it was because he was pushing the buggy and that he is unbelievably good looking… sorry to crush your ego handsome ‘lil brother, but I’m pretty sure it was the buggy she was checking out! Wellington a.k.a Windy Wellington is famous for it’s not so nice windiness. We were caught out on our way home as it started to blow a gale. With some quick thinking we were able to shield baby from the force of the wind by positioning the follow the sun hood lower down so it could shelter him, we survived and managed to make it home all in one piece.

I’ve got 99 problems but the ‘fold’ aint one …

When it comes to folding the vibe, once you get the hang of it, there really is nothing to it. Unclick the side paddles, undo the silver frame lock, compact together, making sure the parcel tray is tucked in, reclose the side paddles and you are done. The black frame lock on the side of the stroller frame ensures the buggy wont fling open or come undone. If I can figure it out, trust me anyone can. The vibe can also be folded with the double kit attached, saving time, precious time. Us parents are suckers for a good time saver!

Upon reflection

Adaptability, function and form make this stroller hard to overlook. Great for use as a single, that can be adapted for two, should more children be in the long term plans later down the track. Parent facing double kit configuration, to help nurture that parent child relationship – the all new vibe has it all. The handbrake means control is at your fingertips, no need to flip flop with a footbrake. The ultra compact fold saves space, despite it’s full size with a new taller main seat, when in use. My lil man couldn’t get over how roomy and comfy it was, falling fast asleep within minutes of being harnessed in. He’s teething at the moment, so he’s been a bit grumpy and grizzly, but all was forgotten once he was in the vibe ready to go for a ride!
