It’s the festive season, a time for celebration and spending quality time with loved ones. But
it can also be a chaotic time filled with stress & extra pressure on families. This year as a way of giving back to the community, phil&teds
and mountain buggy
have donated a $500 star to the Wellington City Mission – to go towards those in need this holiday season. A $500 star is enough to buy one week of food for six medium-sized families; or ten in-home visits by social workers. “In its 11th year of serving Wellington’s most vulnerable people, Wellington City Mission have launched Hollywood-style art installation on the waterfront – the Christmas Walk of Fame! Individuals, groups, and businesses donate money to purchase a star, which is then decorated with their name or logo. Each star represents a family the mission supports with food parcels, budgeting advice and in-home social work. Wellington City Mission chief executive Michelle Branney says the stars on the waterfront are the mission’s way of recognising generous Wellingtonians, the real stars.”
phil&teds friends, if you are venturing out for a stroll along the Wellington water front here in New Zealand over the holidays, be sure to stop by and check out the stars on display or see how you can donate to the City Mission by clicking the links below.
