Innovative auto stop brake helps parents adapt&survive!

The #parentingday is full of surprises! But surprise needn’t turn to fear when life’s distractions crop up out of nowhere, with the phil&teds sport featuring the auto-stop brake. In manual mode, let go of the handle to engage the brake and the phil&teds sport stops in its tracks. The sport is designed to tackle tough terrain, ready for adventure. As well as being an easy & clever inline for one passenger or two, having the auto-stop brake right at your fingertips will give you confidence when traversing the busy city streets, or heading off the beaten path with kids in tow.

Parents are busy! One of the biggest side effects of today’s fast paced lifestyle is feeling rushed. According to this Pew study on modern parenting “Feeling rushed is a part of everyday life for today’s mothers and fathers. Among those with children under age 18, 40% of working mothers and 34% of working fathers say they always feel rushed.” A rushed lifestyle fuelled with caffeine and sleep deprivation (speaking solely from first hand experience here!) can lead to an increase in brain fog or fuzziness and can make people forgetful – there’s just so much to do. A phone call, dropping something or tending to another child is enough for a lapse in concentration to occur and for a parent’s attention to be divided. This is why the phil&teds auto-stop brake was developed, to help parents adapt&survive the hectic & unpredictable parenting day.

The clever brake can be engaged in two ways (you can see how right here!). In manual mode, simply letting go of the handle engages the brake, or you can also tug on the safety wrist strap (which should always be used on all types of buggies & strollers) to engage the brake system. For me, the red brake wire built right into the handle offers reassurance and serves as a strong visual reminder to concentrate, slow down and just be present in the moment. As a busy mum with a million, trillion things on the “to do” list, I need that reminder sometimes. The auto-stop feature alone sets the sport apart from any other stroller I have used, placing control in the palm of my hands.

As well as being rushed, now more than ever parents are trying to strike the optimal life/work balance which can be stressful and challenging. But one sure fire way to counteract stress and get on the right track to finding the perfect balance is exercise. We like to make the most of family time and active time by combining them. We grab the stroller and the family and get walking for at least an hour every day. Whether around the block or to the mountain top, the phil&teds sport helps us spend more quality time together while we work on getting the mind, body & soul into tip-top shape. With the auto-stop brake in my grasp, safety is front & centre – so there’s no excuse not to get moving. It’s an awesome way to get the endorphins flowing, pass on those healthy habits and smash those exercise goals all at the same time.

Wellington is notorious for it’s hills and walking tracks covered in tree roots and gravel so you need a good robust stroller like the sport to take it all on. Air filled tyres give that extra cushioning for your passenger/s, just because the terrain is rough and tough doesn’t mean their ride has to be. Granted it doesn’t always go smoothly, it can be hard to get motivated, there are tantrums (mostly mine), the family will grizzle & moan from time to time – but once we are out in the open doing things together, it doesn’t take long for the bad mood to disappear especially if we are exploring new places. The aim is just to get out of the house everyday for a good dose of healthy activity, fresh air and sunshine (if we are lucky) and the phil&teds sport makes achieving that goal easy!

phil&teds friends, tackle the #parentingday with the phil&teds sport in your grip – calm the chaos, get active & spend time with your minimee’s with safety top of mind!
