There aré better car seats

 2/5

I agree with the other two reviews about the rear facing. Some seat bealts won't stretch enough to go around the car seat and if they do they will interfere getting the baby in/out. Also for newborns the shoulder pads as too bulky. If I had the chance I would had chosen a different model. It looked so good on other reviews. But in real life it is not the best option. Since I bought of them and I feel very bad to throw that money to the trash I am just waiting my twins grow a bit more and i will buy a different brand.

Terrible idea for rear facing

 1/5

Bought this after looking through all available and hoped it would be the one seat to last our little one through from birth to 6yrs - 11 months in and she hasn't travelled in this yet. Rear facing set up restricts access to the seat so much that only the smallest baby would fit through the tiny slot that's left. Looks ok front facing, hard to install so don't expect to swap this in and out with any ease

Finicky to install, horrible RF better FF.

 2/5

We have the pre-2015 model and the seat was horrendous RF (rear facing). We bought the seat thinking, great looking, comfy and safe looking seat. Then we had to install it into my car and although it looks easy on the video I found it too finicky. I had to act like a contortionist to get it tight and then had to contend with the seat belt across the doorway. Try limbo lifting your growing baby over the strap for 3 months, what an utter nightmare to do 3 or more times in a daily basis. Persuaded dad I needed a car seat with isofix...soooo much easier and one that I could ERF (extended rear facing).

FF (forward facing) is way better but still a mission to install. Here is where the video is helpful. Our now 2 year old loves being up high in his comfy seat.

I'd recommend researching your car seat to fit your budget, make and model of your car/s, whether it has isofix and if your interested in ERF or not.

Solid Seat, perfect fit.

I bought this for my 8month old boy, as he was growing out of his capsule. I have installed it my car rear facing. Easy to install, and it fits absolutely perfectly into the car, I was very impressed by how secure the child is when sat in the seat. He is very impressed by the fact he can now see out the window of the car. It has opened a whole new, safe world for him

Great car seat

Owned this for about 6 months now and it's been great. We still have it in rear facing mode but bought it mosrly because you can recline it easily when facing forwards (good for road trips). The fabric is easy wipe but it does get a bit hot and sweaty on summer days.

Horrible

 1/5

You can't rear face in most cars as the seatbelt doesn't fit around the limits don't last for a child in the 60%+ very long so a waste of money because I had to buy a new one just to have my child harnessed beyond 3yrs as its safer. Learnt this time round spent a lil more and got one with higher limits on it that will last 10 yrs...

Looks high end but hard to install

 3/5

Bought this seat today from Baby City Albany as I have a busy schedule everyday and it only took me 5 minutes to decide on which one to buy. The reason I've chosen this product is due to it super comfy look and the black leather matches my car interior. However when I come to install it in the rear facing position my seat belt is not long enough so I have to fiddle with the seat and tilted on an angle for the seat belts to reach. I'm not too sure about how safe this is going to be when the seat is actually tilted on the base with only a small contact point. Tried on all 3 of my cars with the same result. All 3 cars are over $200K being Range Rover Vogue. Mercedes S500 and Mercedes CLS63 AMG all big cars and I wonder what will happen to consumers with smaller cars. I would still recommended it if you are using it as a front facing unit tho.

Nightmare

 1/5

What a nightmare to install only to find out what a wobbly construction it is! Ridiculously difficult to use with the seatbelt cutting your access from outside to the seat. Not going to use and had to purchase another seat.

Keeps a curious baby happy

 4/5

I bought this after using a Alpha capsule up until 9 months then used a Dorel carseat for a few months. We got the evolution as Poppy really didn't like the Dorel seat. She now loves here Evolution, because it is super comfy and she sits up high and can see everything that is going on. Never used it rear facing as she was really keen to face forward. From our point of view the straps and gripped harness covers were the main selling point. The Dorel strap were always slipping off

nightmare!

So it,s the night before going to hospital to be induced, i put the car seat in, all good until you try and put the seat belt on. I had fitted it in another car and was fine but now this one the seat belt is too short!!! Need a ten mile long seat belt! Had a mad dash to get something else. Why would an nz company make something that wouldn't fit in a jap import considering nzs main market is jap imports!

I want a grown up version!

Our little man looks so comfy & safe. I did have trouble getting it in the car though. I ran out of seat belt but my husband was able to get it in. Must have needed extra muscle!

Looks so comfy

After hours of research looking at different products and reading review after review, I decided that I wanted the evolution from phil&teds. The main reason for this is that it just looked so much comfier than all the others on the market - as I do a 45 minute commute to work every day with my daughter in the car, this was really important. Plus it offered removable padded head protection and could be used right through until my daughter went to school!
